Map of Italy
From Como we headed roughly south westwards towards Turin, then south eastwards across more mountains into Genoa. From there we turned north once again and retraced our steps through the mountains until we reached the flatlands of the Po valley. We then cycled east through Parma, Reggio Emilia, and Bologna before turning south towards the mountains.
We climbed up through stunning scenery to the Passo del Raticossa (at 963m) before sailing down the other side in to Florence, then Siena.
From Siena we continued south until we reached the outskirts of Rome. We circled around the edges of the city before turning east and heading up into the hills once more. For over a week we passed through incredible mountain scenery before reaching the town of Foggia. From there we turned south east through the lowlands of southern Italy. We continued south east until we reached the port of Brindisi and our ferry to Corfu.
